In India emphasis is given on education above all and it is our moral responsibility to see that high quality education is imparted to the students of MET. I am proud to state that in the academic year 2006 - 2007 we had two university toppers, Akshata Shetty - T.Y.B.Pharm. and Mihir Shah - F.Y.B.Pharm. at the respective University examinations. Our trustees felicitated them. I congratulate both of them and wish them the very best in the coming academic years. I also appreciate the efforts put in by our teachers for the excellent results at the University examinations.
Internet facility has been provided to the students in our Pharmacy library. The T.Y.B.Pharm. students have to present a seminar on a suitable topic. The seminar sessions may be looked upon as the training programme for moulding the T.Y.B.Pharm. students for the teaching profession. Apart from academics our students have excelled at the extracurricular activities. This year they missed the Rx Sports Trophy just by a thin margin of five points. This year D.Pharm. students have also enthusiastically participated in the sports conducted by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA).
I take this opportunity to thank our Trustees Chhagan Bhujbal, Sunil G Karve, Pankaj Bhujbal and Samir Bhujbal, for giving additional LCD projectors and laptops for the the 'Institute of Pharmacy'. I also wish to congratulate them for the 'Bhujbal Knowledge City' that they have set up at Nashik. It is the farmhouse of knowledge. I also thank Vishakha Bhujbal & Shefali Bhujbal for their active participation in the college activities. I also wish to thank J.G.Irani, Head of the Communication department for guiding our students in designing the cover page of our magazine 'The NEST'.
In December 2006, the 58th IPC was held at Mumbai and our students played an important role as volunteers under the guidance of Dr. Anand Shedge and attended the volunteer induction programme conducted by the IPA.
Our aim at MET is to test a student's genuine comprehension of a subject and not just the power of memory. We know that to graduate from being a developing country to a developed one, we must have high quality education. If we want to transform India's destiny we will have to further emphasise on what we teach and how we teach.
Jai Hind!!!
