MET hosts Rendezvous of Corporates with MBAs
‘Rendezvous’ – a pooled placement programme for final year MBA students was hosted by MET on 7 & 8 January, 2014. The aim of the programme was to present meritorious MBA students to the best companies from the industry. The two-day event was marked by the presence of 31 leading companies from different industries, recruiting students for various marketing positions. A total of 270 students from 20 B-Schools were shortlisted to be presented to the corporates. 15 students from MET and 185 students from other institutes finally participated in the event. Students were put through rigorous rounds of aptitude tests and group discussions before the personal interview.
Most aspiring students go by the placement data of B-Shools before registering for an MBA programme. Achieving the right job fit, i.e. where students fit intellectually and culturally is an important factor when it comes to ensuring a healthy placement. So a programme like Rendezvous is a win-win situation for the corporates, the students and the institutes. It bridges the gap between MBA Institutes seeking placement for its students and corporates searching to employ the best talent. The event brought in bright sparks from various B-Schools under one roof, giving them an opportunity to set foot into the corporate world. This year, Rendezvous saw around 100 MBA students being placed with top companies.
