MCA: Master of Computer Application

Programme Objective
Master of Computer Application from MET ICS is a prestigious post graduate programme that strikes a balance among the skills required in areas from system development to the enterprise level. The programme provides the students with the right edge in areas of software design and engineering information, architecture and project management. The programme also equips them with a thorough orientation towards research. It sharpens the skills and trains them to excel in application or system development, system analysis and design, project management, consultancy or even entrepreneurship. The excellent academic inputs by the experienced faculty and the world-class infrastructure at MET contribute towards building a truly global IT professional.

Are you eligible?
Graduate from a recognised University with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at graduation and minimum of 45% aggregate marks for open category and 40% for reserved category. Students who have appeared for their final year graduate examination may also apply for admission. However their eligibility will be decided after the production of their degree result with required marks on or before the due date.

Selection Procedure
The students will have to appear for the state-level common entrance test (CET) conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai or CET conducted by Maharashtra Association of MCA Institutes (MAMI). The applicants will have to submit CET scores.

Programme Outline
The MCA programme follows a three-pronged approach:

• Core subjects in Computer Technology, Mathematics and Business Management.
• Electives like Network programming, e-Commerce, Industrial Financing amongst others provide link to the latest trends in the Computer field.
• Unique initiatives and activities like the Mentoring System, Seminars and Guest Lectures and the Tech@MET festival amongst others are organised to enhance capabilities of the student
• The crowning glory is the final year project development in the Industry that prepares our students for the rigour of corporate world. The students pursue a 6-10 month live project in the industry. Thus, when the students step into the corporate world they are fully equipped with the best IT skills.
