MET Institute of Computer Science and CSI student branch organized the first CSI workshop “Android Application Development” on August 7, 2011 at the MET Convention Centre.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Vishnu Kanhere, Chairman - CSI Mumbai Chapter, Mr. Ashish Dandekar, Senior Member - CSI Mumbai Chapter. Chief Speaker of the workshop, Ms. Rajashree Das, Technical Architect - iGATEPatni and her team members Mr. Dyaneshwar Nalawde & Mr. Pankaj Bakal, Sr. Software Engineer - iGATEPatni. The ceremony started by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of ceremonial lamp.
Over 120 MET students were present. The workshop was divided into two sessions. The first session, gave an introduction to mobility, diverse mobility ecosystem an overall architectural view and Anatomy of Android Architecture. Mr. Dyaneshwar, Mrs. Rajashree and Mr. Pankaj also demonstrated on how to create a basic android application.
The workshop speakers from iGATEPatni also had an interactive session with the MET ICS & CSI committee members who placed their doubts and queries about android and corporate environment before them. The second session gave a gist of layouts and UI elements in Android, content providers, GPS and Google map and how to publish an android application. An interactive and informative Question and Answer session was held thereafter.
