MET HR Conclave: Talent Management in VUCA times

The dynamic and fast changing nature of our world today is best described by VUCA. VUCA is an acronym developed to describe a multipolar world: volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. VUCA provides both opportunities as well as challenges. Drawing references from major trends and momentous changes happening in the business world MET Institute of Management decided to conduct an HR Conclave to prepare the students to better understand the complexity of changes and how a single phenomenon may have ripple effects on multiple issues including talent management in organizations.

The eminent panel comprised of Mr. Alok Sheopurkar from HDFC Mutual Funds and AMC , Mr. Prashant Khambaswadkar, a leading HR socialist, Mr. Luis Moniz, a prominent Executive Coach, Mr. Nambiar, Head HR - GoAir, Mr. Vikas Shirodkar, Director - Basil and Ex Group HR Head - General Motors and Siemens , Mr. Vijay Deshpande, Director - Human Resources, Member of Board - SKODA Auto India. The forum was moderated by Dr. Farida Virani, HOD and Professor of HR & Behavioral Sciences at MET Institute of Management. Through the presentations and the panel discussions the experts deliberated upon the implications of the VUCA environment from both the sectoral and organizational perspective. They also highlighted the possible actions HR leaders must take in order to ensure that talent within the organization is equipped to handle this volatility and change.
