Library

The MET PGDM Library is designed to support excellence in teaching, learning, and research by offering access to high-quality academic resources. It not only fulfills the curriculum needs but also encourages intellectual exploration and scholarly inquiry.

Located on the 8th floor, the central library caters specifically to the needs of PGDM students and faculty. It provides seamless access to a diverse range of print and electronic resources, which are available both on-campus and remotely. These include:

  • E-journals and print journals
  • E-books and printed books
  • Full-text databases
  • Bibliographic and reference databases

The library is fully automated using KOHA, an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS). This includes a user-friendly Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), allowing users to search, reserve, and recommend resources conveniently.

The facility is air-conditioned and equipped with 24/7 CCTV surveillance, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for study and research.

The MET PGDM Library offers a modern, fully automated, and resource-rich environment that supports learning, teaching, and research. With an open-access system and barcode-based management, users can easily explore its diverse print and digital collections. Subscribed e-databases, a Digital Library, and an Institutional Repository provide access to extensive academic and industry resources. Located on the 8th floor, the air-conditioned, Wi-Fi-enabled library is managed by a qualified librarian, ensuring efficient services and a conducive academic atmosphere.

Library Automation

The MET PGDM Library achieved full automation through a phased journey that began in 2001–2002 with the LIBSYS 4 software and barcode integration for efficient resource management. In 2023–2024, the library upgraded to Koha (version 22.11.11 Rosalie), a globally used open-source ILMS, successfully migrating all legacy data and streamlining cataloguing, circulation, and user services. Further enhancements, including handheld and wireless barcode scanners added in 2024, have improved operational efficiency and workflow.

Availability of relevant learning resources including e-resources and Digital Library

The MET PGDM Library has evolved through the dedicated efforts of the Library Committee and faculty, with a vision to support academic excellence and research. Collaborating with leading national and international publishers, it offers access to the latest books, journals, and databases. Guided by a strong procurement policy, the library functions as a dynamic Learning Resource Center, fostering research, self-study, and collaborative learning for students, faculty, and scholars. Continuity in implementing new initiatives and best practices is indeed a hallmark of a high-quality library.     The MET PGDM Library provides access to the EBSCO Business Core eBooks Collection and e-Journals, a leading research platform offering academic journals, eBooks, magazines, and conference papers across disciplines. With advanced search features and user-friendly access, EBSCOhost supports high-quality research and learning. It offers full-text access to over 1,100 business periodicals, including key trade publications and historical archives, enabling users to explore current insights and long-term trends in business and management.

  2. ProQuest ABI/INFORM Global eJournal and eBooks Database:

    ABI/INFORM Global is a comprehensive business research database offering access to over 5,300 periodicals, full-text journals, dissertations, conference papers, and market reports. It provides extensive coverage of business, management, and finance topics, along with historical archives for long-term research. The platform also includes powerful tools for citation, document management, and exporting, making it an essential resource for students, researchers, and professionals.

  3. Capitaline - AWS Database:

    The Institute subscribes to the Capitaline Database, integrating it into teaching and learning as a key pedagogical tool. Capitaline offers comprehensive financial and market data on over 45,000 Indian listed and unlisted companies across 300+ industries. It provides detailed company profiles, multi-year financials, ownership patterns, market trends, and analytical tools—supporting research, analysis, and practical learning in business and finance.

National Digital Library (NDL) - Lifetime Access

The MET Institute of Management, as a member of the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), provides students and faculty with lifetime access to a vast repository of educational resources, including textbooks, research articles, video lectures, audiobooks, simulations, and multimedia content. Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi:

The MET PGDM Library is a registered member of DELNET (Developing Library Network), a prominent library network aimed at facilitating resource sharing and inter-library cooperation across institutions.

DELNET promotes the development of a shared knowledge base by connecting libraries nationwide, thereby enabling access to an extensive repository of books, journals, articles, and other academic resources beyond the institution's own collection.

The primary objectives of DELNET include:
· Facilitating resource sharing among member libraries.
· Minimizing duplication of resources through coordinated collection development.
· Providing computerized library and information services to users.
· Promoting access to union catalogues, databases, and bibliographic records across libraries.

This collaboration significantly enhances the information accessibility and research capabilities of MET PGDM’s students and faculty, aligning with the institution’s goal of fostering academic excellence through enriched learning resources.
